abbreviations, acronyms, initialisms and foreign-language acronyms/initialisms: WHAT’S THE RULE FOR ARTICLES?
– acronym is a word on its own so no THE, e.g., NASA, FIFA
– initialism is spelled out initials so needs THE, e.g., the UN, the OECD
-what about foreign-language acronyms/initialisms? no rule found. TUSIAD does not get the THE. we think MKK doesn’t either. search for more.
